1Steph Fearon says “Remember to book your tickets for Aladdin guys! Buxton Opera House”

11th December 2010 – 1st January 2011
Traditional panto at Buxton Opera House is better than ever this year, with dazzling dance routines, side-splitting comedy and a stellar cast from some of TV’s most popular shows.
There’s a party going on in the backstreets of old Baghdad, where young Aladdin (Bruno Langley from Coronation Street and Dr Who) and his daft brother Wishee Washee (Matthew McVarish from CBeebies’ Me Too!) live with their hard-working mum, who runs the local laundry.
Hitch a ride on a camel and join the fun as Aladdin meets the beautiful Princess Jasmine (Steph Fearon, semi-finalist from Over the Rainbow), discovers a dodgy long-lost uncle and sets out on a perilous quest to seek an ancient lamp, buried deep in a desert cave.
Don’t miss this magical Christmas treat for the whole family!

Steph Fearon My Parents are Aliens
0Steph Fearon catches up with two other members of the cast from “My Parents Are Aliens” and takes Sophie Evans with her.
Harriet “Harry” (Stephanie Fearon) (2005): Harry came in series 7, Brian and Sophie adopted her, looking for a replacement for Mel, who left for Canada on an exchange trip. She is similar to Mel in personality, she is usually moody and is a bit of a tomboy. She is also very protective of C.J. because he is the youngest, although he finds her behaviour patronising. Like Josh, she plays the guitar, and her practising sometimes irritates the others.
Steph has now finished her week in “The Wiz” so what’s next?
Steph Fearon Get Well Soon
0Well it’s very good news that Steph woke up after her operation, and is making a big fuss all about it
All here at the Steph Fearon blog wish her the swiftest possible recovery and that the aches and pains soon go away. We’d also like to wish Jessica Robinson all the best for tonight’s show at Smokey Joe’s Cafe and tomorrow as well. There’s be a few different Dorothy fans and maybe even ex Dorothy contenders in the audience no doubt, if they managed to get tickets for the cosy Landor Theatre venue.
Smokey Joes Cafe until September 12th
0West End regular Melanie La Barrie has joined the cast of Smokey Joe’s Café, which has extended its run at the Landor theatre to 12 September. It had been due to finish on 12 August.
La Barrie is a familiar face on the London stage having played Madame Thénardier in Les Misérables, Pearl in Daddy Cool and Mrs Corry in Mary Poppins, as well as roles in Rue Magique at the King’s Head and Once On This Island at the Hackney Empire.
In joining jukebox musical Smokey Joe’s Café she replaces 80s disco diva Kym Mazelle, who gave her final performance in the musical on Sunday. La Barrie joins Steph Fearon, a finalist in the recent BBC casting programme Over The Rainbow.
Leiber and Stoller’s show Smokey Joe’s Café showcases 39 classic pop, rock ‘n’ roll and rhythm and blues tunes written by the duo including Jailhouse Rock, Fools Fall In Love, Keep On Rollin’ and Loving You.
La Barrie is not the only musical theatre regular to make the journey south of the river; the Clapham fringe venue has also announced a new production of Richard Maltby and David Shire’s Closer Than Ever, which runs from 14 September to 9 October.

Jessica Robinson to stand in for Steph Fearon 3 Nights Only
1Apparently Steph Fearon has a minor wrist operation booked for later in August and since Smokey Joe’s Cafe has extended, this leaves a few nights when Steph can’t perform at the Landor Theatre. But the great news is that another Dorothy from Over The Rainbow, none other than Jessica Robinson has been drafted in as a replacement.
Jessica Robinson will appear in Steph Fearon’s role from the 20th to the 22nd August 2010 while Steph recovers.
Jessica Robinson was described Andrew Lloyd Webber as “wonderful and quirky” and came within touching distance of playing the lead role in his production of The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz which is opening at The London Palladium next year.
“Over The Rainbow” contestant Jessica Robinson will take over from fellow Dorothy Stephanie Fearon in “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” for just three nights from the 20th to 22nd of August to allow Stephanie to have an operation on her wrist.
The self-proclaimed “wacky” Dorothy, Jessica Robinson, 18, from Middlesbrough just missed out on a semi final place despite an energetic, umbrella-wielding performance of the tongue-twisting classic ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ from Mary Poppins
Jessica was voted out in the sing-off, but Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber said:
I say this with the heaviest heart in the entire world, Jessica you are so wonderful and quirky, you’re a real star in the making.
The Landor Theatre’s acclaimed production of “Smokey Joe’s Cafe”, voted No1 Critics Choice in Time Out London, recently extended its record-breaking run by three weeks. The first major production of the musical since its West End run at the Prince of Wales Theatre in 1996, will now play until Sunday September 5. It had been booking to August 12.
‘Smokey Joe’s Cafe” is a musical revue showcasing 39 pop standards, including rock and roll, rhythm and blues songs written by songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, choreographed and directed by MykAl Rand; produced by Thomas Hopkins and Robert McWhir for The Landor Theatre, Sue Vaccaro & Ricky Stevens in association with Danielle Tarento.
