Steph Fearon’s Aladdin Diary
0loving Buxton… but so over the brown slush that used to be pretty, white snow…
Published on Thursday Dec 2nd
It’s the end of my first day of rehearsals for ‘Aladdin’, and I’m still really buzzing. It’s been great to meet the rest of the cast and we already feel like a big family.
We’re rehearsing at the Railway Hotel (who’ve made us very welcome), but I can’t wait to perform on stage at the beautiful Opera House.
There was a lot to get through today – reading the script, giving interviews, having our photo taken in costume and working with the Musical Director on our songs: it reminds me of my time on “Over the Rainbow” last summer, when there were always loads of new routines to learn each week.
I’m playing Princess Jasmine and Bruno Langley is playing Aladdin. When I was young I loved Jasmine’s character in the Disney cartoon, so I’m really happy to put my stamp on the role.
I hope you can come and see us!
* Aladdin runs at Buxton Opera House from Saturday December 11 to Monday January 1, 2011. For tickets, call 0845 127 2190 or visit www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
Steph Fearon IS Dorothy – Wizard of Oz Tour
0Steph Fearon has announced that she will be playing the part of Dorothy after all, in a touring production of The Wizard of Oz starting April 2011.
The Wizard of Oz tour is by New World Productions and includes dates in Peterborough and Liverpool, with more to come.
New World however, are still promoting the Wizard of Oz tour with “The Hilarious Joe Pasquale as Scarecrow and Tracey Beaker’s Dani Harmer as Dorothy” so we have yet to see whether our Steph Fearon has bagged the whole tour in place of Dani or if it’s just for some of the dates.
